If odor is noticeable continue to follow this document. Contaminants are effectively neutralized using the AIRCOMATIC? II Ultrasonic Climate System Cleaner (VAS 6189A) or AIRCOMATIC? III Ultrasonic Climate System Cleaner (VAS 6189B) and AIRCO-CLEAN? Ultrasonic HVAC Treatment (30208). All other cleaning methods are no longer permitted. This document discusses the "Fault Codes" necessary to diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue. The fault codes for checking warranty coverage for servicing the vehicle are also available.

VOLKSWAGEN: HEADLIGHTS MAY INTERMITTENTLY DIM SLIGHTLY AT IDLE. AT IDLE SPEED THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE CAN FLUCTUATE, AS THE ALTERNATOR CANNOT FULLY COMPENSATE THE FLUCTUATIONS. SOME ELECTRIC CONSUMERS COME ON IN CYCLES OR HAVE NO CONSTANT CURRENT CONSUMPTION, WHICH AMPLIFIES THIS EFFECT. THE LOAD CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE BATTERY CAN ALSO INFLUENCE THIS EFFECT. IN SOME VEHICLES IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A BUSHING INSIDE THE MECHATRONIC UNIT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO WEAR OUT PREMATURELY, CAUSING THE CLUTCHES INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION TO OPERATE LESS SMOOTHLY THAN BEFORE. THE DRIVER WILL BEGIN TO NOTICE CHANGES IN THE WAY THE VEHICLE FEELS AS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS (JERKING). THIS CHANGE CAN BECOME VERY PRONOUNCED, THE VEHICLE REMAINS SAFE TO DRIVE. *PE
