On May 21, 2017, a settlement of claims in a class action lawsuit involving 2005 ? 2010 Toyota Tacoma, 2007-2008 Tundra, and 2005-2008 Sequoia vehicles regarding frame corrosion was approved. This finally approved class action settlement includes inspection of the customer?s frame, and if the frames meet or exceed the Rust Perforation Standard based upon the Court-ordered inspection criteria, the frame will be replaced at no cost to the customer. This settlement will also include CRC (Corrosion Resistant Compound) application. Toyota is currently preparing parts for the CRC application process. Once available, CRC application will be covered under a separate Limited Service Campaign (LSC), and will only be available for vehicles registered in the Cold Climate States1 that pass frame inspection criteria.

Dealer Letter: This communication only applies to dealerships located in Pennsylvania. As discussed in our August 28, 2017 Dealer Daily message, dealers in Pennsylvania were required to wait to commence CRC application for the H0F campaign until after expiration of a 15 working-day notification period. Notices regarding the H0F campaign were submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and Philadelphia Air Management Services (PAMS) on August 25, 2017. Accordingly, the 15-day period has now expired and you may commence offering the CRC applications at your dealership.

TSB: REVISION NOTICE July 20, 2017 Rev1: Applicability has been updated to exclude 2007 ? 2017 model year Avanza vehicles. Some hazardous material treatment and handling regulations at the state and local level define the pre-disposal deployment of airbag and pre-tensioner assemblies as hazardous material treatment. Hazardous material treatment may require special training, certification or licensing in certain areas. TMS recommends that dealership personnel carefully review and follow ALL local and state regulations, and where necessary, contract with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Licensed Hazardous Waste Transportation and Disposal facilities.

Toyota vehicles are equipped with either conventional or run-flat tires. Sometimes punctures may occur as a result of contact with road debris or other hazards. If a puncture occurs, it may be possible to repair the tire and return it to service. With a conventional tire it is not possible to drive for an extended amount of time with the tire at low pressures as damage to the tire may occur. With run-flat tires, due to reinforced sidewalls, it is possible to drive for up to 100 miles (160 km) at speeds less than 55 mph (90 km/h) with little or no damage to the tire.

Beginning in 1998, Toyota introduced side airbags as optional equipment. Toyota does NOT recommend replacement of original seat covers with non-Toyota leather or other seat cover materials on vehicles due to the following: Seat covers NOT recommended by Toyota may affect side airbag performance, in general or in part, during an accident. Modifications that negatively affect side airbag performance can result in severe occupant injuries. Seat covers are an integral part of this safety system. Replacing fabric seat covers with non-Toyota leather or other seat cover materials may compromise the effectiveness of this safety system. The design of the seat is complex, integrating safety and strength with comfort and luxury. Toyota strongly discourages modifying original equipment seats that have optional side airbags. Additionally, Toyota strongly advises against the installation or use of aftermarket seat covers, which could impair the performance of the side airbags in the event of an accident.

If a creak, tick, or rattle noise is heard at the top or bottom of the windshield, or at the top of the rear glass, the source of the noise may be the two stoppers bonded to the top of the windshield/rear glass, or the windshield retainers bonded to the lower edge of the windshield.
