TSB: Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 10) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 4). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Follow the process in this bulletin to perform the update.

TSB: REVISION NOTICE December 13, 2019 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include several 2020 model year Toyota vehicles. ? The Required Tools & Equipment section has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 9) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 3).

TT: Safety Connect is a vehicle option which requires a subscription fee for the system to be active after the initial trial period. Once the subscription has expired the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) will be in an inactive state. In some instances, a DCM may need to be replaced even though the customer is not using the service. If registration of the replacement DCM part is attempted using the Techstream utility after the account has become inactive, the registration will fail, and messages such as ?ATX webserver is Down? or ?ATX error? will be displayed.

TSB: Some 2018 ? 2019 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with the Entune? 3.0 Premium Audio Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. 9), and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 2). NOTE Map data is released once each year through the shipment of an SST USB flash drive to each dealer. The SST MUST be stored in the SST cabinet to ensure it can be easily found

Customer retention and proper maintenance of vehicles are and have always been a major focus for Toyota. To help remind customers that regular service is essential to the proper maintenance of the vehicle, dealers are required to install a service reminder sticker before delivery. By doing this, customers will be reminded to return to your dealership for service. Your current service reminder sticker may be used. (See PDS Check Sheet item 9 of ?Final Inspection and Cleaning.?) TT: The current engine active test ?Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning vehicle to customer.
