While the map update process is user-friendly, we ask that retailers assist customers with the map update procedure when requested as a courtesy, an opportunity to build retailer loyalty, enhance customer satisfaction and in keeping with the Love Promise. Retailers may also want to install this map update on any certified pre-owned or pre-owned vehicles in their inventory on their own. Under certain circumstances, some customers may have a concern regarding a howling-type sound from the rear of the vehicle later diagnosed as a faulty hub / bearing assembly. Unevenness of the backing plate surfaces may affect the concentricity (roundness) of the hub / bearing after torqued during assembly and over time, cause the howling -type sound to develop. Production changes for the backing plates have been implemented to optimize their mounting surface quality.

This bulletin announces part information for new Active Valve Control System (AVCS) oil control solenoid valves (OCV) which contain a redesigned internal oil seal. The new seal will eliminate potential oil seepage into the wire harness connector portion of the valve. If oil seeps into the connector, over time, the Check Engine lamp may illuminate and set various AVCS-related DTCs.

The procedure will involve either downloading the software update files from Subarunet (or using those sent directly from Nuspire) and transferring them onto a flash drive for head unit installation. This Service Information bulletin announces instruction for application of additional lubrication between the brake caliper support and pad clips. This will prevent the pad from dragging due to corrosion buildup which may result in uneven or premature wear of the replacement brake pads. The purpose of this Service Information bulletin is to advise Technicians about DTC B279A12: ?ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM CIRCUIT SHORT TO AUX BATTERY?. For 2019MY, this DTC will always be indicated when inspecting for Readiness Codes using the Subaru Select Monitor. It will set because although the ECM?s self-diagnosis function includes the DTC, there is no target value included in the logic to test against. Therefore, the test result is incomplete and the DTC is stored. Even though the DTC is displayed, the system is normal and no attempt should be made to diagnose or repair it. The logic will be changed for 2020MY.
