IF YOU CONFIRM The customer states HomeLink will not operate or has improper operation. ACTIONS 1. To significantly reduce unnecessary repairs, make sure: a. The vehicle is not in "Transit Mode" (if equipped). - Not in Transit Mode: With the turn signal switch is in the OFF (center) position, turn the ignition from OFF to ON. If the turn signal indicators stay OFF (do not illuminate), the vehicle is not in Transit Mode. b. SERVICE INFORMATION After ECM reprogramming, the Calibration Verification Number (CVN) needs to be automatically calculated prior to State emissions testing (also known as Inspection Maintainence, I/M, or SMOG testing depending upon location). Allowing the vehicle to idle for 22 minutes will allow for faster CVN calculation. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain, iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. SERVICE INFORMATION Applied vehicles equipped with a CVT have a "cap" that appears to be a fluid level gauge. This "cap" will NOT have a gauge or "dipstick". This is normal. Do NOT replace the "cap" because it is thought to have a "dipstick". The fluid level is not checked from this location. The fluid level for applied vehicles is checked from the oil pan (refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual [ESM]). Whenever checking, filling, or topping off a CVT's fluid level of an applied vehicle for any reason, use the procedure outlined in the appropriate section of the ESM. SERVICE INFORMATION - The Extended Storage Switch (ESS) now includes the enable/disable of BCM transit mode. - Operating the ESS will, at the same time, enable/disable the BCM transit mode with one operation (as opposed to separately on other models). - Together, the ESS and BCM transit mode are now referred to as "Shipping Mode." - The ESS is still located in the fuse panel. - Vehicles are shipped to dealers with the ESS disengaged (Shipping Mode) to help prevent the 12 volt service battery from becoming discharged during shipping and dealership storage. - Dealerships are required to push in the ESS prior to customer delivery.
