The Idle Stop Start (ISS) fault message displays in the combination meter when the seat belt is not used by the driver for ten (10) consecutive ignition on/off cycles. The ECM reprogram is intended to eliminate the fault message from the driver information display. The ISS indicator lamp will remain illuminated. Normal ISS system operation will resume after the seatbelt is used. Affected vehicles are not subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. If a rear kicking plate is being replaced, use the parts listed in the PARTS INFORMATION on page 2. IMPORTANT: When replacing a rear kicking plate with an updated part, early production vehicles must have the hole for the deleted clip covered with a body patch (Figure 1), to prevent water intrusion.

VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 2022 PATHFINDER; ECM REPROGRAM INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign, on certain specific model year 2022 Pathfinder vehicles, to reprogram the ECM. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number R21B2 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties. Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.

IDLE STOP / START SYSTEM FAULT ERROR MESSAGE SERVICE INFORMATION A “Stop / Start System Fault” error message may be displayed on the instrument panel (Figure 1), if the seatbelt remains buckled or unbuckled over 10 consecutive drive cycles.  Drive cycle: Driven over 2 mph, and then parked for at least 10 minutes If the Stop / Start System Fault error message is displayed on the meter, in most cases buckling / unbuckling the seat belt with the ignition ON, or in accessory mode, should clear the message.  If buckling / unbuckling the driver’s seatbelt does not resolve the issue, refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose and repair the vehicle, and clear the Idle Stop System (ISS) meter message.
