TELEMATICS SERVICE INFORMATION HINT: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 4G network compatible TCU. TCUs compatible with 3G network only are no longer supported. SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). With an active NissanConnect® Services subscription, the TCU communicates with the NissanConnect® Services Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. This bulletin contains important service procedures that must be performed properly in order to set-up and maintain the telematics system for the APPLIED VEHICLES. · A table has been provided on the next page that lists the steps required to successfully configure a TCU after it has been replaced. · A CHECK-OFF SHEET has been provided on page 20 to print and check off steps as they are performed. Staple the completed CHECK-OFF SHEET to the repair order.

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT BLINKING APPLIED SYSTEMS: Vehicles equipped with a lane camera (see Figure 1) SERVICE INFORMATION If the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) warning light or is blinking (but not illuminated steadily) or the customer states it is blinking, and there are no related DTCs, inspect the windshield. A blinking AEB warning light may occur under the following conditions: When contamination or foreign material adhere to the lane camera viewing window on the windshield. When driving while it is snowing or when frost forms on the lane camera viewing window on the windshield. When the lane camera viewing window on the windshield is temporarily fogged up. SILICONE-BASED LUBRICANT OR GREASE CAN DAMAGE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SERVICE INFORMATION Do not apply Silicone-based lubricants or grease to, or around, any interior electrical components. To avoid the risk of death or severe personal injury, do not directly spray Silicone-based lubricant or grease, or inadvertently overspray Silicone-based lubricant or grease onto any interior electrical components. These types of lubricants can be detrimental to the proper operation of electrical components.

12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR INFOTAINMENT ISSUES SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing an infotainment issue or after replacement of the AV Control Unit, it is necessary to verify the current software version of the AV Control Unit to determine if a software version update is required. Use the vehicle tables in this bulletin to determine the current software version, if the AV Control Unit requires a software version update, and which procedure to use to update the AV Control Unit. The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and âbugâ fixes. IMPORTANT: If the customer is experiencing a software related concern, refer to NTB21-038 to verify if the customer concern is a hardware or software related issue. If the concern is a software related issue, review the information in this bulletin to update the AV Control Unit as needed.

DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) availability. ï· If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer. ï· If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to NTB21-013 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

3G TELEMATICS HARDWARE DEACTIVATION SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). AT&T discontinued its U.S. 3G network coverage on February 22, 2022. As a result, automakers that utilize AT&Tâs 3G network connection, including Nissan Group, have had connectivity services affected. NissanConnect® Services are no longer available on the APPLIED VEHICLES listed above.

MIL ON WITH DTC P062F AND/OR P0603 STORED IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON and DTC P062F (EEPROM) and/or P0603 (ECM BACK UP/CIRCUIT) is stored, And The customer stated the vehicle was recently started after sitting for an extended period of time (i.e., the battery voltage was low while attempting to start the engine). ACTION 1. Test the vehicleâs 12 volt battery using the Midtronics DSS-5000. Recharge or replace the battery if necessary. 2. Erase all DTCs.

VK56 CONNECTING ROD CAP BOLT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION A change has been made to the connecting rod cap bolt service part. The new service part (B in Figure 1) is visually different, but is a direct replacement for the original equipment part. IMPORTANT: See page 2 for the procedure to inspect the cap bolt service part for excessive stretch. If replacement of a single connecting rod cap bolt is indicated for any given connecting rod, both connecting rod cap bolts of the affected connecting rod must be replaced as a set.

2018 â 2019 ARMADA; HEADLAMP AIMING SERVICE INFORMATION When adjusting the headlamps on an Armada, make sure to follow the procedures in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). ï· - Warranty claims for headlamp adjustment are subject to audit. ï· - Claims must have the measurements for dimension H, M, and N (shown in this bulletin) listed on the repair order and on the Technician Comments line of the claim. ï· - Claims submitted without these measurements may be denied. If a customer reports their headlamps are not aimed correctly: ï· - Follow the exact procedure in the ESM for headlamp adjustment. ï - For the procedure to aim the headlamps refer to the ESM: DRIVER CONTROLS > EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM > LED HEADLAMP > PERIODIC MAINTENANCE > HEADLAMP AIMING ADJUSTMENT. ï· - Do not deviate from the adjustment procedure in the ESM. ï· - Refer to the Clarifications of the ESM Vertical Headlamp Adjustment Procedures in this bulletin.

SERVICE INFORMATION If the AEB warning light is blinking (but not illuminated steadily) or the customer states it is blinking, and there are no related DTCs, inspect the windshield.
