This Safety Recall Bulletin provides instructions and procedures for the modification of the second row center seat belt, related labels, inserts, and replacement of the second row right hand side seat belt (if needed). Due to seat arrangement of the second row seat back, if the owner's manual is not properly followed when folding the second row seat back down, the center seat belt buckle may interfere with the right hand side seat belt buckle. As a result, the cover of the right hand side seat belt buckle may come off causing the buckle latch to become inoperable and unable to engage the seat belt tongue.

This in turn may cause the damaged urethane material to turn to powder and fall on the floor carpet. This may cause several malfunction indicators to illuminate, including: Engine Malfunction, EV System Service Required, and RBS (Regenerative Brake System), with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0AA7 and P0AA8 (Leak Sensor Detection Circuit). This condition is accompanied by a decrease in vehicle power and vehicle speed being restricted to maximum of 37mph (60 km/h).
