Some customers may experience the MAZDA CONNECT rebooting or the screen turning black during extremely cold temperatures. The concern occurs when the interior of the vehicle is cold and disappears when the interior warms up. This is caused by some SD cards for the MAZDA CONNECT navigation system being manufactured with improper hardware, resulting in a data reading error during extremely cold temperatures. To correct the concern, the SD card hardware has been changed.

Some vehicles may experience a rough idle with the check engine light on and DTC P0015 / P0524 stored in memory. P0015:00 - Exhaust CMP timing over-retarded P0524:00 - Engine oil pressure too low This is caused by a drop in engine oil pressure due to a piece of foreign object stuck on the oil pump pressure relief valve or oil control valve (OCV). The temporary entry of the foreign object triggers a check engine light on, but rough idle will not be produced until a later time.

Some vehicles may exhibit rust/paint blisters (1) on the surface of the front side sill near the the scuff plates(2). This is likely caused by the driver's or passenger's shoe(s) contacting the side sill when stepping in and/or out of the vehicle since the side sill of the Mazda3 is wider than other models. When this happens, mud/sand stuck to the sole of the shoe scratches the paint surface, which then develops into rust/paint blisters. When you receive a customer complaint on this concern, use the following repair procedure.

Some vehicles may exhibit excessive operating noise when sliding the driver and/or passenger power seat(s) back and forth. The noise may be caused by cable vibration, which transmits power from the motor to the gears. The cable vibrates inside the cable casing due to inadequately wrapped fabric around the cable. To eliminate this concern, the power seat cable has been changed to a type that produces less friction and noise.

Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following noises from the front suspension. A squeaking noise from the front shock absorber when turning the steering wheel at a vehicle standstill caused by stick-slip between the front strut bearing and the coil spring. A popping noise from the front shock absorber when passing over speed bumps caused by the bump stopper contacting the strut bearing when the shock absorber is compressed. A creaking noise from the lower arm when driving over road bumps at 20-40 km/h caused by stick- slip of the front lower arm bushing. The noise occurs when the road surface is wet or after a car washing, and becomes more noticeable as the speed bump gets higher. To correct these problems, the following changes have been made. For the squeaking and popping noise, the shape of the bump stopper has been modified and a protector has been installed onto the coil spring. For the creaking noise, the friction of the lower arm bushing has been reduced by adding a dry coating.

The Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system alerts the driver of a possible collision using an indication in the display and a warning sound when the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) detects a vehicle ahead and determines that a collision with a vehicle ahead is imminent. In addition, the system reduces damage in the event of a collision by operating the brake control when the system determines that a collision is unavoidable. It may also be possible to avoid a collision depending on the relative speed between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. In addition, when the driver depresses the brake pedal, the brakes are applied firmly and quickly to assist.

In some cases, the area of oil residue extends down to around the joint portion (B) between the engine front cover and the oil pan. This may be caused by oil escaping from a fine clearance created at the sealant applied to joint (A) between the cylinder block (B) and head (C) when the engine was pressurized during leak testing on the engine assembly line.

Some customers may claim that it is impossible or difficult to view the Active Driving Display, even if the position of the display is adjusted through the Settings screen. This is caused by an incorrectly learned zero-point (closed position) of the Active Driving Display. The main reason this happens is because an object (e.g. gloves, paper, etc. ) was placed in the storage area where the mirror and optical receiver are housed. If an object is detected (i.e., jammed) when the Active Driving Display closes after switching the ignition OFF, the system determines this as abnormal and stops the closing operation, leaving the Active Driving Display in an open position. When the engine is started the next time, correction of the zero-point is automatically performed. If the object is still in the storage area during the correction, the system learns the incorrect position as the zero-point. As a result, the zero-point position largely deviates from the standard position; therefore, it becomes impossible to view the Active Driving Display from the normal view position.

A creaking noise from the lower arm when driving over road bumps at 20-40 km/h caused by stick-slip of the front lower arm bushing.

Air intake mode does not work after repair of rain sensor, FBCM, IC, PCM, or TCM. After performing any one of the following repairs, the air intake link at the blower unit may disengage and result in the HVAC systemnot switching between recirculation and fresh air modes. * Replacing rain sensor * Replacing front body control module (FBCM) * Replacing instrument cluster (IC) * Reprogramming any control unit (PCM, TCM, etc) - manual A/C only. This is caused by the air intake link in the blower unit not being sturdy enough for the actuator torque under fail safe fmode. Fail safe mode occurs when a communication error occurs between the A/C control unit and the humidity sensor. To c orrect this problem, the blower unit has been modified.
