LSB: On some vehicles, when Rapgard is removed, the paint may have a stained appearance. These stains appear to be under the clear coat. The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture. Use the following procedure to address this concern.

TechTip: Some models are equipped with front and rear wheels of different offsets or width. Wheel offset, defined as the distance between the wheel's centerline and the wheel-to-rotor mounting surface, affects the clearance between the back of the wheel and surrounding brake components. Installation of a wheel with an offset or width different than the correct specification, such as installing the rear wheel on the front, can cause damage to brake components due to interference between the wheel and adjacent parts. The wheel could contact the brake caliper thereby introducing stress into the caliper, brake rotor, and potentially other components. In some cases, the stress could contribute to cracking or seperation of the brake rotor.

Beginning in 1998, Lexus introduced side airbags as optional equipment. Lexus does NOT recommend replacement of original seat covers with non-Lexus leather or other seat cover materials on vehicles due to the following: Seat covers NOT recommended by Lexus may affect side airbag performance, in general or in part, during an accident. Modifications that negatively affect side airbag performance can result in severe occupant injuries. Seat covers are an integral part of this safety system. Replacing fabric seat covers with non-Lexus leather or other seat cover materials may compromise the effectiveness of this safety system. The design of the seat is complex, integrating safety and strength with comfort and luxury. Lexus strongly discourages modifying original equipment seats that have optional side airbags. Additionally, Lexus strongly advises against the installation or use of aftermarket seat covers, which could impair the performance of the side airbags in the event of an accident.
