The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified the presence of substandard and dangerous driver’s-side airbag inflators manufactured by Jilin Province Detiannuo Automobile Safety System Co., Ltd. (DTN). These inflators were not supplied, approved, or authorized by the vehicle manufacturers and have primarily been found in vehicles that previously experienced a crash and underwent airbag replacement using non-genuine parts. These dangerous inflators have ruptured during deployment, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to metal fragments entering the vehicle cabin. To date, Hyundai is aware of three people who have died while driving a Hyundai vehicle with one of these substandard replacement airbag inflators that deployed in what likely would have been a survivable crash. NHTSA has issued a public advisory urging vehicle owners and service professionals to have vehicles inspected if there is reason to believe that a non-genuine replacement airbag may have been installed. Vehicles with salvage or rebuilt titles, prior airbag deployments, or unknown repair histories may present a higher risk. NHTSA strongly cautions against self-inspection by vehicle owners and recommends inspection by trained technicians.

Effective June 2, 2008, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 (FMVSS 110) sets a threshold for correcting load capacity information indicated on tire placards when the vehicle weight has been increased before retail sale. This limit is the lesser of 1.5% of the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or 100 pounds. If the total added weight exceeds the lesser of the limit, a label (See Figure 1) must be added to the driver-side B-pillar within 25mm (1 inch) of the original tire placard. NOTE: Effective immediately, all ports will stop the installation of the Load Capacity Label when there are no port accessories installed.

The Blind Spot Detection (BSD) or Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) is a system that measures the speed of and distance from the following vehicles by using two magnetic wave radar sensors attached in the rear bumper. The BSD/BCW detects vehicles within the blind spot zone and gives off an alarm (visual and audible). The two magnetic radar sensors provide these functions for BSD/BCW: ? Senses other vehicles in the BSD/BCW zone and turns on the BSD/BCW warning lamp for the driver. The warning lamp starts blinking, along with an audible sound, when the driver turns on the turn signal lamp to enter the lane where another vehicle is driving.

AFTER THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, THE PCM/TCM ADAPTIVE VALUES MUST BE RESET IN ORDER TO PROVIDE OPTIMUM SHIFT QUALITY. 2015MY GENESIS SEDAN (DH) TIRE REPLACEMENT (RECALL 138) Description: On certain 2015MY Genesis sedan (DH) vehicles the original equipment tires (Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2) may exhibit uneven tread wear; and/or cracks along the sidewall(s). The cracks in the sidewall of a tire could result in air loss and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. This bulletin describes the service procedure to replace the Hankook brand tires with 18 Michelin tires or 19 Continental tires. Vehicles equipped with 18 tires require a software update which changes the Engine Control Modules speed governor from 149 to 130 mph to accommodate the tire speed rating change from W for the Hankook tires to V for the Michelins.
