THE TYPE 4 SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUS SYSTEMS IN THAT THE TRANSPONDER ID CODE IN THE KEY IS A ROLLING-TYPE CODE INSTEAD OF A FIXED CODE. IN THIS SERVICE BULLETIN, A PROGRAMMED IGNITION KEY REFERS TO A TRANSPONDER-TYPE KEY THAT HAS BEEN CUT TO FIT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND WHOSE TRANSPONDER ID CODE IS RECOGNIZED BY THE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM. IF YOU TRY TO START THE ENGINE WITHOUT A PROGRAMMED IGNITION KEY, THE ENGINE CRANKS, BUT IT DOES NOT START.

"SERVICE BULLETIN - THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL ISSUES THAT MAY CAUSE THE VSA BRAKING SYSTEM TO APPLY BRAKING FORCE EVEN IF THE DRIVER HAS NOT PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. IF THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED UNEXPECTEDLY, IT MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. • DAMAGE TO AN INTERNAL VSA MODULATOR-CONTROL UNIT COMPONENT COULD CAUSE THE VSA SYSTEM TO MISINTERPRET THE SIGNAL AND MAY CAUSE THE VSA BRAKING SYSTEM TO UNEXPECTEDLY APPLY BRAKING FORCE. • FOR VEHICLES WITH VINS BEGINNING WITH 5FN, A GROUND BOLT MAY BE LOOSE. INCREASED RESISTANCE CAUSED BY THIS LOOSE GROUND BOLT MAY CAUSE THE VSA BRAKING SYSTEM TO UNEXPECTEDLY APPLY BRAKING FORCE."

Service bulletin - Certain Honda vehicles operated in areas known for high absolute humidity and high heat may contain a driver's airbag that, over time, may be affected by exposure to the humidity, which could produce excessive internal pressure upon deployment. If an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator casing to rupture. Metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, possibly causing injury or fatality to vehicle occupants.
