Service Bulletin - When cold-starting the engine and shifting to Reverse, the engine stalls in the first 10 to 14 seconds. There is too much oil clearance between the input and stator shafts, which allows ATF to drain out of the torque converter during extend off periods. During a cold start, when the torque converter is refilled, air gets trapped in the torque converter. This applies the lock up clutch, which stalls the engine.

To properly diagnose AWD differential leak, it is always a good idea to trace the leak to the highest point. For example, a loose or damage fluid pressure sensor can appear to be an axle seal leak because the leak can drain down on the axle seal. CUSTOMER LETTER - UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE SOFTWARE IN THE PCM CAUSES A LOW PRESSURE PROBLEM IN THE CVT. THIS MAY ALLOW THE BELT IN THE CVT TO SLIP. IF THE BELT SLIPS, YOU MAY SEE A SURGE IN RPM WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF THE BELT SLIPS LONG ENOUGH, THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE DAMAGED, AND DTC P1890 WILL SET.
