This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about the text messaging feature on some newer General Motors infotainment systems. Pair the iPhone to the system then enter the Bluetooth settings menu, select the ?i? icon next to the vehicle name in the device and enable show notifications. The text messaging feature will be available on the next ignition cycle. However with iPhones text messages cannot be responded to when using the infotainment system, they can only be received. For android devices pair the phone to the system during the pairing process the phone will ask you to allow the vehicle to access the device contacts. A second question will pop up on the device asking to allow the vehicle to access the message access profile. Both have to be allowed for the text messaging feature to work.

High oil pump pressures under these conditions may cause various components to fail, including the engine oil cooler (EOC), EOC lines, or the oil pump itself, resulting in a loss of lubrication in the engine. Diagnostic Trouble Code C1114 set in the Chassis Control Module. Chassis Control Module has to determine the type of trailer brake system that is being used. The Chassis Control Module can be sensitive to a variety of trailer wiring issues. The technician will need to make a trailer tester using Electric Trailer Brake Magnets and 7-way trailer connector to determine if it is a vehicle or trailer issue. If the concern is not duplicated with the tester installed, the vehicle is operating correctly and the focus should be on the trailer wiring or 7 way connector.

It may be noted that this only seems to occur when playing songs via IHeart or Pandora. This may be caused by a software concern in the Instrument panel Cluster(IPC). The dealer is instructed that engineering is working on a resolution to this concern and when it is available a bulletin will be published to inform the dealer of the repair. The dealer is instructed to advise the customer that until a repair is available for this concern changing the station/source or waiting until the song ends should recover the screen.
