Some 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.

Various 2013-2019 vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P264F after powertrain control module (PCM) replacement. This DTC indicates that the engine serial number (ESN) must be programmed into the PCM. The ESN is located on PTS> OASIS> Features> Engine Serial Number. Once the ESN is obtained from the historical vehicle bill of materials (HvBOM), it can be programmed into the PCM using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Navigate to the toolbox tab> powertrain menu> Service Functions> ESN.

Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.

Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty pickups may exhibit an instrument panel cluster (IPC) turn signal indicator that flashes fast with no inoperative turn signal lamps after the pickup box has been removed by the upfitter. This may be due to the body control module (BCM) not recognizing the modified lower current turn signal lighting that was installed. To correct this concern, use Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool version 104.04 or later to configure turn lamp outage settings as required. Under toolbox > module programming > programmable parameters > exterior lighting, select rear bulb turn outage and outage ABM and change the setting on each parameter from outage to no outage. Changes to lamp outage settings on pickups as a result of upfitter modifications are non-warrantable. Upfitters are responsible for FMVSS 108 compliance.

Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit incorrect air temperature from the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) outlets with DTC B1081:07 in the front controls interface module (FCIM). This may be due to binding of the blend door in the HVAC housing or binding between the temperature door actuator and the cam to the temperature door. Replacement of temperature door actuator and cam driver is recommended if the blend door is not binding. Note that removal of the cam driver follower from the blend door shaft can result in damage.

Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 6.8L gas engine may exhibit multiple warning indicators in the instrument panel cluster and/or inoperative radio during snow plow use. Battery state of charge is important to verify prior to any repairs. 12.72v to 12.8v is a fully charged battery. To assist with the investigation use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and include the following information: What brand of plow the vehicle is equipped with, If it's been equipped by the plow manufacturer's specifications, If other equipment is up-fitted on the vehicle, ambient temperature when the concern occurs, Engine RPM and MPH/KPH, and battery state of charge. Note the concern should be duplicated similar to customer use and ambient temperature.

Some 2011-2018 F-Super Duty 6.7L diesel equipped vehicles may exhibit a ticking noise at idle after an engine oil change. It is often referred to as Typewriter Noise because of its similarity to the sound of a mechanical typewriter. When engine temperatures reach 150 Å?F (65 Å?C) or higher, (from engine idle up to approximately 1700 RPM's), this noise can typically be heard at the front wheel well and is often isolated to the transmission bell housing or oil pan area. Typewriter Noise is not detrimental to engine function or durability and has no short or long term effects on the engine. Do not attempt repairs to eliminate this noise. This noise is characteristic of the 6.7L diesel engine and will typically cease or diminish significantly within the oil change maintenance interval.
