Certain 2021-2023 Model Year F-150 HEV Vehicles Replacement of Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery Coolant Spigot In the affected vehicles, the Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery (EGHR) coolant spigot may develop a crack due to a weaker-than-intended coolant spigot having been used in a prior repair. As a result, coolant may leak out of the engine, and one or more warning lights, such as the Check Engine Light, may illuminate.

Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine, 2020-2023 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine and 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L hybrid engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and auto start/stop disabled. This may be due to a loose wiring connection to the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). The Workshop Manual (WSM) has recently been updated to provide new direction for DTC P0A1E. Refer to the WSM, Section 303-06 Starting System, Diagnosis and Testing, Starting System for applicable diagnosis.

Some 2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles built on or after 31-Jul-2023 may exhibit DTC P2DA6 stored in the secondary on board diagnostic module C (SOBDMC). If there are no observable symptoms associated with this DTC, this condition does not affect vehicle operation or durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition. If there is a lack of heat in the vehicle cabin and this DTC is present, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Diagnosis and Testing for diagnosis.

Some 2023 F-150 fully hybrid electric vehicles (FHEVs) built on or before 2-Nov-2023 may exhibit an intermittent no start and Stop Safely Now message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U0293 and/or P1A43 in the BECM or in connected vehicle data. A gateway module A (GWM) software concern may be triggering the no start condition.

Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning/e-Transit vehicles may exhibit a concern where the vehicle is unable to achieve 100 percent state of charge immediately after high voltage (HV) battery module balancing and replacement. This may be due to the battery energy control module (BECM) adjusting the cell balance (conditioning) of the battery module and should be corrected within 22 days. If the vehicle otherwise functions as designed with no related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) setting, this concern will be corrected automatically with no further actions required by the technician.

Some 2022-2023 F-150 PowerBoost vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Midtronics DCA8000P battery tester is unable to test the auxiliary battery. Engineering is aware of this condition and updated software will be loaded in the DCA8000P battery tester in September of 2023 allowing the tester to test the auxiliary battery and generate a battery approval code and diagnostic trouble code (DTC). Follow Workshop Manual (WSM) section 414-01 Battery Diagnosis and Testing to verify battery condition. If the auxiliary battery needs to be replaced a repair validation code (RVC) is not required at this time and should be replaced following the Warranty and Policy Manual standard claiming procedures. Monitor OASIS for additional updates.
