Technician will need to slightly bend the end of the J-38125-12A release tool. There is a purple Terminal Position Assurance that will align itself in the release position when the release tool is inserted into the release hole. There is a metal locking tab on the terminal that will need to be pushed in before the terminal will pull out of the connector.

Technician will need to check the Regular Production Option Code for 6E2 or 6E8. Technician will need to order the correct key part number per the Regular Production Option Code. Then the technician will need re-code the lock cylinders to match the Regular Production Option Code. Also replace the Body Control Module and normal Service Programming System to the Body Control Module will turn the vehicle to a common key.

This noise is a characteristic of the new Active Hydraulic Assist System RPO NV8 and no repairs should be made. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the blower motor may be noisy or vibrate when running. This concern will only occur when the temperatures is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and if the blower motor is removed while still cold, ice may be found on the blower motor cage. This concern could be caused by water leaking or snow ingestion into the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning case. Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. Reseal and install the plenum cover cap using Kent air dry sealer or equivalent.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair vehicle that may have a "Check Trailer Wiring" or "Service Trailer Brake System? message on the Driver Information Center when a trailer is connected to the vehicle. Diagnostic Trouble Code C1114 set in the Chassis Control Module. Chassis Control Module has to determine the type of trailer brake system that is being used. The Chassis Control Module can be sensitive to a variety of trailer wiring issues. The technician will need to make a trailer tester using Electric Trailer Brake Magnets and 7-way trailer connector to determine if it is a vehicle or trailer issue. If the concern is not duplicated with the tester installed, the vehicle is operating correctly and the focus should be on the trailer wiring or 7 way connector.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps need to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have stalling shudder and/or hard shifting into 1st gear or reverse vibration on launch (with excessive crankshaft end play). Technician will test to determine if the crank shaft end play is within specification 0.0015?0.0086 inch. If end play is found to be out of specification, remove engine and inspect for possible crankshaft thrust bearing and/or crankshaft for wear. Inspect thrust bearing for wear on one side and crankshaft on that "mating" surface. If the thrust bearing has three vertical channels worn off replace connecting rod bearings, main bearings, thrust bearing and crankshaft. If working on a Corvette the oil tank with lines and oil cooler are both required to be replaced if equipped

N182202780 01 - Special Coverage. Certain Vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hardbrake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applyingthe brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump outputmay decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervalscould contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs,the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additionalpedal force. Please be aware that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards forbrake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
