Starting with 2016 model year Lane Keep Assist Regular Production Option Code (UHX) replaced Lane Departure Warning Regular Production Option Code (UFL). Lane Keep Assist is designed to assist the driver in keeping the vehicle from drifting out of a driving lane that has clearly identified markings. The electric power steering provides a gentle steering correction if a lane marking has been crossed and the driver has not actively responded.

This can create a noise during starting or may even have the starter spin but not crank over the engine. The document directs the technician to replace the flex plate and inspect the starter pinion drive teeth and replace starter assembly as needed.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have an intermittent no crank, no start, or start stall concern with the security light coming on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes B3055, B3060, and/or B3935. Technician should not replace any parts for this concern. If unable to duplicate the concern ask if the customer uses any Radio Frequency Identification Devices when the concern is present. Dealer should also direct their customers to the appropriate section in the Owner manuals that references that the device complies.

The technician is instructed to use the data bus tool to determine if the front view camera module and active safety module are both communicating on the low speed bus. If the technician determines that one of the modules is not communicating on low speed the tech is instructed of areas to inspect the low speed communication line, 5060 for possible opens and repair them per SI.
